When using the ProtectorGlaze™ peelable glass protection product, several key conditions of use must be strictly adhered to.
- ProtectorGlaze™ is roller applied to main area of glass, brush applied second coating to perimeter of area only.
- Apply only with ProtectorGlaze™ rollers. The use of other rollers may apply the product too thinly causing the product to be difficult to peel off.
- Do not apply the product:
-
in very heavy rain;
- when the temperature is below 3°C or above 24°C.
- Do not remove the product:
- until fully cured - generally 24-36 hours minimum depending upon temperature and airflow. Product can remain in situ for up to 12 months;
- in temperature below 5 °C and above 26 °C;
- with any sharp implements. Simply peel off from one corner.
- If the product is to be applied to framework, aluminium or PVCu:
- once 'touch dry', apply a second coat;
- do not coat handles or locking mechanisms;
- do not coat where there is a likelihood a vent/door may be opened.
- Do not store the product where it may be liable to freeze.
Protectorglaze can be applied by our customers own operatives or by Protectall International Ltd, as part of our supply and application service.
Protectall International Ltd. will, through its team of operatives, provide initial factory training to demonstrate correct application procedures.
It is recommended that glazing gaskets be inserted prior to applying ProtectorGlaze™.
Ideally, glazing should be protected as it is installed; e.g. towards the end of a working day.
When trained, an applicator should, dependant on site conditions, be able to cover between 25-50m 2 per hour.
Wash out rollers with clean water after use.
Any unused volume of product left in the roller tray may be returned to the storage drum providing it has not begun to set.
Ensure all opened drums are resealed when not in use and during transportation.
ProtectorGlaze™ has a shelf life in excess of 12 months when unopened.
One litre of ProtectorGlaze™, applied with the ProtectorGlaze™ roller, will cover 6-8m 2 of glazing.
IMPORTANT: do not use 'off the shelf' general decorating rollers; these may not apply the product at the correct thickness. |
